Turbine Engineer

location: Germany

Our client is an internationalglobal group focusing on renewable energy sector. They aim to meet global needfor cleaner energy solutions in a manner that is economically, environmentally,and socially responsible.

As a Turbine Engineer you willbe an integral part of the development team, focusing on the technical aspects.Your primary responsibility will be to develop the Wind Turbine Generator  scope for new projects.

 

In this position, you will beinvolved in WTG selection, assessments, design, and installation conceptsthroughout different project phases. You will work as a team player to ensurethe success of new projects, which can range from tenders to green fielddevelopments and can involve both bottom-founded and floating structures.

 

Your specific duties willinclude:

 

Managing the technical aspectsof WTG supply and installation agreements. This involves leading thepreparation of tender documents, evaluating tenders, conducting technicalcontract negotiations with wind turbine manufacturers, and supporting bothinternal and external technical negotiations.

Independently implementing andmanaging the prequalification of WTG components through audits, technical duediligence, technical risk assessments, and acting as the primary contact forsuppliers.

Providing technical expertiseon wind turbines for customer’s offshore wind portfolio, including support forjoint ventures, opportunity realization, merger and acquisition activities, duediligence, and the entire life cycle of offshore wind farm projects.

Managing the load iterationprocess and coordinating interfaces with suppliers.

Providing advice to projectteams on risk, opportunity, schedule, and cost related to the WTG scope, andmanaging interfaces between the WTG scope and other project packages.

Ability to travel: You shouldbe able to travel monthly to a joint venture or parent office for 5-8 days at atime.

 

Requirements:

 

Completed university studiesin Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relatedfield).

At least 5 years of knowledgeand experience in the development, construction, functioning, and operation ofWind Turbine Generators for offshore wind farms.

Understanding of the loaditeration process.

Familiarity with Wind TurbineSupply Agreements, their technical aspects, and their commercial impact, withproven experience in leading technical negotiations for these types ofagreements.

Strong analytical andconceptual skills, with the ability to think innovatively and strategically.

Extensive experience intechnical project management and team management, including supporting andleading employees.

Willingness to travel, bothdomestically and internationally, as required by the job.
